Why do my mineral/vitamin supplements state “take a few hours before or after other medication”?

And by other medication, does that include other vitamin/mineral supplements? I know my aunt takes like five at once. What if I wanted to take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement but an additional calcium one?

    This warning is intended to reduce the possibility of a clash with prescription medication.

    In most cases mixing natural medication or mixing vitamins/minerals is OK.
